LODHRA Powder (Symplocos Racemosa)

LODHRA is an important astringent and menstrual regulator and a significant Ayurvedic haemostatic, much like Manjistha (Madder). It helps prevent miscarriages and strengthens the fetus. Lodhra is found in many Ayurvedic women’s formulas. A tea made of equal parts Lodhra and Sandalwood is good for excessive menstrual bleeding. The herb is found in many Ayurvedic tooth powders as well. A mouth wash made of a teaspoon of Lodhra powder with a pinch of Alum is god for receding gums and sensitive teeth.
